[w8lky] W8LKY Presidents Notes

Good afternoon everyone, we had a wonderful breakfast Saturday January 5th at Don Poncho’s Restaurant 2015 W. State Street in Alliance.  I was monitoring 145.370 after I got home and all the comments were very good, it sounded like everyone liked the food and service, and the fellowship was second to none. I checked with Perkins Restaurant and they are booked for the date we wanted for our next breakfast. So I took the liberty and called  Don Poncho’s back and reserved the 2nd of February for our next breakfast, I hope that is OK with everyone,if not let me know.

I would encourage all of you to go on line and view and save the 2018 Year End Report of Ohio Section of the ARRL. You can access the report (which by the way is very interesting and informative) at: http://arrlohio.org
I encourage you to read the section on ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Services). I want to share a part of the ARES report which in part states the following: “Our ARES program is second to none in the country with over 1,500 active members. We also lead the nation with over 780 members that have the new National Incident Management System (NIMS) requirements by completing the required Four  (4) basic courses  (IS 100, 200.700 & 800). Our members are eager to learn and have a total of over 7,600 NIMS courses logged thus far” I hope that FEMA will reschedule more classes for the certification process in the near future. We have an outstanding group of ham operators in AARC and it is an honor and pleasure to work beside everyone in AARC
See you Wednesday at our January 9th meeting 7:30pm in the conference room near the Cafe’ Cafeteria in AultmanAlliance Community Hospital. Our pr-meeting dinner will be held in the Cafe’ Cafeteria starting at 5:30PM, we will order off the menu. For menu selections go to AultmanAlliance Community Hospital Web page and look on the main page and select cafeteria and the menu for the day will be displayed.
